JOB OVERVIEW:

The Financial Analyst, Lease Accounting, is responsible for ensuring that lease accounting transactions are properly recorded in our financial statements, in accordance with Lease Accounting Standards (ASC 842). This individual assists in abstracting, analyzing and inputting Lease information, as well as recording and reconciling monthly impacts. This individual is also responsible for maintaining the Lease system, and acts as liaison between the Lease system and other departments. Additionally, this role assists with Quarterly and Annual reporting (internal and external) and ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Review and abstract lease agreements to obtain financial information

-Analyze leases for proper accounting, including adding them to the lease module with proper terms and managing them as needed

-Prepare percentage rent accruals, payments and annual reconciliations

-Manage accounting for Tenant Allowance and provide related Tax Team deliverables

-Prepare month end journal entries and assist in reviewing and analyzing month end trends

-Perform period end General Ledger account reconciliation, including research and correction of any discrepancies

-Review Lease Specialists’ Accounts Receivable and Prepaid Rent monthly reconciliations and journal entries

-Prepare quarterly and annual lease financial reporting for 10Q and 10K

-Prepare quarterly and annual lease financial information for Business Plan and Quarterly Estimates

-Ensure that all controls outlined in Sarbanes-Oxley documentation are applied to lease processes

-Work with Internal and External Audit to provide deliverables by established timelines and to respond to and resolve any questions

-Responsible for Darden’s Lease subsystem (Tango), including maintenance, reporting, testing upgrades/enhancements, and resolving issues

-Train individuals in Tango and assist with system issues while serving as a liaison between the Lease Department and other Departments

-Ad hoc projects or analysis related to lease accounting, as needed

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

-3+years of experience in Accounting

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, specifically the ability to create V-Lookups and Pivot Tables within Excel

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

-CPA preferred

-Experience with Oracle and/or Tango software a plus
