JOB OVERVIEW

The Consumer Insights Associate Manager provides executional and analytical support for custom and syndicated research projects for internal clients. The Associate Manager is expected to make proactive contributions by identifying where consumer insights can impact key business initiatives. Additionally, the Associate Manager will identify opportunities and help reduce risk in decision making, in order to optimize the brand, guest and food experience.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

-Executes consumer insights research; sets objectives; plans and manages consumer research studies; manages ad-hoc research requests to gather data and/or insight

-Develops briefs to guide projects; plans, organizes, monitors, and controls all aspects of a project and ensures engagement, commitment, and risk management; provides ongoing communications support on project status to ensure senior management alignment

-Summarizes data, Interprets results from analyses, and prepares study findings and translates findings into actionable insights and learning points for internal partners and management

-Supports others in monitoring and reporting results from tracking studies, other syndicated data sources, and primary guest research

-Manages interviews, focus groups, and testing for consumer insight studies; writes copy for various marketing and consumer insight initiatives

-Supports others in the integration of findings from multiple studies and sources of research to present a complete picture including leveraging guest relations and other resources; coordinates and performs tasks to monitor and analyze key brand performance metrics

-Applies an understanding and knowledge of consumer, market, and industry trends to work activities

-Uses syndicated data to examine industry trends and stays current on emerging consumer trends

-Supports individual and team performance through strong team orientation, coaching and feedback

-Develops and nurtures relationships with other Restaurant Support Center teams to remain informed of initiatives and disseminate research results

-Manages resources, tasks, contracts, scope, and budgets for projects

-Supports restaurant operations by responding to inquiries and providing relevant information and/or resources

-Manages vendor partners and research agency relationships


REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

-3+ years market research or consumer insights experience

-Market Research Planning: Demonstrates the capability to design and manage field research studies

-Consumer Insight Identification and Communication: Demonstrates the capability to translate data into insight

-Consumer Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of current consumer and industry behaviors, trends, attitudes, preferences, and needs

-Brand Strategy Development: Demonstrates the capability to develop and create a clear and compelling brand strategy and evolve and support that strategy over time

-Project Management: Demonstrates the capability to achieve desired outcomes on time and within budget through the application of project management principles and techniques


REQUIRED EDUCATION:

-Bachelor’s Degree (business, consumer research, marketing or related field)

OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

-Some travel required

-Passion for food and hospitality

-Demonstrated ability to leverage a wide variety of research skills

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Strong leadership and management skills

-Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and planning work tasks

-Proven track record of results orientation

-Strong analytical skills, including previous experience leveraging and assessing data for key consumer, brand, and competitive insights

-Proven ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

-Ability to consult and collaborate with a variety of different business partners


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

-Advanced degree

-Prior research or CI experience in hospitality, retail, and consumer packaged goods or agency

-Demonstrated ability to lead and hold others accountable for performance
