The Accounting/Tax Analyst is responsible for the processing of intercompany transactions, research, and preparing journal entries and reconciliation work papers for sales and purchases transactions. This position ensures that all daily/monthly debits and credits are accurately posted and reconciled in the appropriate general ledger. Other responsibilities for this position include prepare the monthly tax returns and work papers, communicating with external vendors and state tax authorities to resolve issues, and assisting with special sales tax projects.

LOCATION: Field based office located in New Orleans, Louisiana (Remote work options 1-2 days each week as business needs allow)


--Process and manage activities necessary to initiate, complete and reconcile the company’s purchases and sales.

-Manage document requirements related to purchases, sales and vendor relationships for various transactions.

-Review purchase/sales transactions and apply applicable state and local tax rules to determine taxability.

-Implement and maintain tracking tools for document retention to audit adherence of defined processes.

-Periodic review of processed purchase/sales transactions and the assigned taxability.

-Prepare, record, and reconcile journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.

-Vendor Research – Research and respond to taxability questions from internal stakeholders and external vendors on tax invoice disputes. Monitor vendor vendor adherence to contractual terms.

-Establish reporting processes to segregate transactions by vendor, commodity and business unit.

-Compliance – Prepare and file relevant returns and supporting work papers. Prepare necessary data

-Works autonomously in responding to inquiries from taxing authorities. Research and respond to jurisdictional notices. Document and track findings.

-Prepare review and analysis of tax-exempt sales. Report quarterly compliance to brands.

-Special Projects – Assist with special research projects as required and communicate results effectively to management. Collaborate with internal personnel and external consultants to collect, analyze and summarize data seeking potential enhancements.


-Minimum 2 years of tax or accounting experience in public accounting or comparable industry experience

-Knowledge of tax and accounting preparation and research software

-Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel


-Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting/Finance preferred)


-Ability to handle multiple priorities in efficient manner

-Outstanding organizational skills

-Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to communicate effectively with taxing authorities, internal departments (Accounting, Supply Chain, and Accounts Payable), and external vendors.

-Self-motivated and able to work independently

-Strong analytical/problem solving skills


-Masters of Tax or Accounting

-CPA License

-Discoverer, Hyperion, Oracle, and Alteryx experience is a plus
